Q: When is the IMC open? A: Monday – Friday; 7:15 – 3:00
Q: Can I come to the IMC at lunch? A: Yes, but make sure you are quiet and productive. You MUST receive a pass from Mrs. High prior to your lunch period.
Q: Can I have food, drinks, or candy in the IMC? A: No. If you bring these items to the IMC, please keep them in your book bag or at the circulation desk. This includes water.
Q: Can I come to the IMC without my class? A: Students coming to the IMC without their class MUST have a pass.
Q: Do I have to whisper in the IMC? A: Use “smart voices” in the IMC. Be aware of people around you and talk at a level that does not disturb them.
Q: What do I do with books I take off the shelf but don’t want to check out? A: If you take books off the shelf, please do not put them back. Return them to the circulation desk.
Q: If I’m working with a partner at a computer, where do I sit? A: One chair needs to be at each computer at all times. You may bring the wooden chairs to the computer area if you are working with another person. Please return the wooden chairs to the tables when you are finished.
Q: For how long can I check out books? A: Non-Fiction and Fiction Books can be checked out for two weeks. You may renew a book if no one is waiting for it.
Q: Can I check out reference books? A: No
Q: Does the IMC charge fines for overdue books? A: No.
Q: What happens if I lose or damage a book? A: You will be charged the replacement cost of lost or damaged materials. If you find a book after you’ve paid for it, we will refund your money.
Q: Can I checkout more materials if I have a fine or overdue book? A: No.
Q: What happens if I decide not to pay my fines? A: The school does not distribute report cards to students who have an overdue book, or a fine for lost/damaged materials.
Q: Can I email in the IMC? A: Yes, but academic work has priority over email.
Q: Can I participate in chat rooms, Facebook, etc. at school? A: No.
Q: Can I download things to the school’s computers? A: No.
Q: Where should I save documents? A: You must save documents on a flash drive or your personal network folder (U: drive). DO NOT save directly to the computer (computer’s hard drive, My Documents, etc.).
Q: Can I use the color printer? A: Yes, for school assignments.
Q: Can I use the printers for personal things? A: Do not use the IMC computers to print personal items such as pictures, invitations, personal cards,spirit posters, etc. You will be charged for misuse of school materials and resources.
Q: Does Bridgman’s Technology Use Policy apply to the IMC? A: Yes! Students who break these rules will be disciplined accordingly. IMC computer privileges may also be revoked.
Q: Can I purchase flash drives and CD’s from the IMC. A: Yes | Flash drive – $7.00-$10.00 | CD’s – .25
Q: How much does it cost to have something laminated? A: We only laminate on Wednesday; it costs $.50 a foot.
